KUCHING (Aug 21): The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) recently sought collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government to organise the upcoming Sarawak Urban Forum 1.0.
According to a statement, this initiative was brought up following a courtesy visit to Wisma Bapa Malaysia led by Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who is also the minister responsible for DBKU.
During the visit, Dr Abdul Rahman met with Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, also the Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government.
The Sarawak Urban Forum 1.0, scheduled to take place from Oct 20 to 22 at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre, marks its inauguration this year.
It aims to provide a platform for local authorities in Sarawak to exchange views and ideas on urbanisation.
Key topics for discussion will include Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Smart Cities, Low Carbon Cities and Circular Economy.
Also present during the visit was Datuk Bandar Hilmy Othman.
