KUCHING (Sept 20): The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) is calling on all city residents to join a World Cleanup Day 2024 event at Pantai Pasir Panjang tomorrow from 7am.

Themed ‘Arctic Cities and Marine Litter’, the programme will include plogging, rubbish collection competition, lucky draw, and aerobics.

DBKU said the annual event involves simultaneous beach clean-up activities across the country from Sept 16-24.

“This event is not just a dedicated day for environmental cleanliness; it is part of a global movement towards restoring the planet, reshaping our habits, and preserving natural beauty for future generations,” the commission said in a statement.

Among those taking part in the event are the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Politeknik Kuching Sarawak, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
