KUCHING, Jan 14: A total of RM800 million has been allocated to Engkilili as part of the Sarawak government’s development agenda for the area.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, speaking during Engkilili Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Unity programme held in Engkilili yesterday (Jan 13), Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the allocation reflected GPS’ commitment to ensure the wellbeing of Sarawakians.

“GPS has brought development to Engkilili by upgrading the infrastructure, completing continuous projects as much as possible so that they are not abandoned and are fully completed,” he was quoted by Ukas as saying.

He added that the Sarawak government also allocated RM1.5 billion every year to Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA).

He said that Engkilili will also be included in the disbursement of the allocation. — DayakDaily
