KUCHING, July 1: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has revoked the diesel sales limits of 50 litres, 100 litres and 150 litres imposed under the Diesel Sales Control for Land Transport Vehicles directive, effective today.

In a statement, KPDN Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said the Directive on the Implementation of Diesel Sales Control for Land Transport Vehicles dated March 27, 2026, has been fully cancelled effective July 1, 2026.

“The decision follows the Prime Minister’s announcement on June 21 regarding the standardisation of subsidised diesel prices under the Budi Diesel initiative at RM2.10 per litre nationwide, as well as the introduction of a new mechanism allowing eligible consumers to purchase subsidised diesel using their MyKad at petrol stations beginning today,” he said.

Azman said all holders of scheduled controlled goods retail licences selling petrol or diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan have been notified that the diesel sales control directive for land transport vehicles has ceased to have effect from July 1.

“KPDN is confident that the new system introduced by the federal government would enable subsidised diesel to be distributed in a more targeted, efficient and effective manner, while simplifying the purchasing process for eligible users,” he added.

KPDN also called on all stakeholders, including fuel retailers and consumers, to fully comply with the new directives and procedures to ensure smooth implementation of the revised subsidised diesel distribution system. — DayakDaily
