Diversity, unity, and mutual respect: Sarawak’s strength must be safeguarded

KUCHING, March 19: Sarawak’s diversity is a strength that must be collectively preserved, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said, urging citizens to uphold unity, harmony, and mutual respect as the foundation for the State’s continued progress.

In his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message, Awang Tengah highlighted that the celebration is not only a day of joy but also a meaningful occasion to express gratitude, strengthen bonds with family and friends, and seek forgiveness from one another.

“Amidst the festive atmosphere, we are reminded of the importance of love, tolerance, and mutual respect in our daily lives.

“The spirit of unity and understanding among communities is essential to ensure that Sarawak continues to develop and prosper,” he said.

He called on all citizens to use the Hari Raya celebrations as an opportunity to reinforce bonds of brotherhood, not only among Muslims but across the wider community, regardless of background.

“With a spirit of unity and togetherness, we can collectively contribute to the progress and well-being of our beloved Sarawak,” he added.

Awang Tengah and his family extended their greetings to all Muslims in Sarawak, wishing that the festivities bring joy, peace, and blessings to everyone.

He also sought forgiveness for any personal shortcomings, saying, “I sincerely ask for forgiveness if there have been any mistakes or lapses. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.” — DayakDaily
