Driver suffers cuts to lips after crashing into road barrier near Bau

KUCHING (Aug 11): A 24-year-old male driver narrowly escaped serious injury after his car crashed into a road barrier along the Pan Borneo Highway towards Bau town early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said they were notified about the incident at around 2.40am and firefighters from the Bau fire station were despatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the victim was trapped in the driver’s seat with cuts to his lips.

“The firefighters proceeded to extricate the victim from the car before handing him over to the paramedics from the Bau Hospital for further action,” it added.

After ensuring that the situation was safe for the road users, the firefighters ended the operation at 3.22am.
