KAPIT (March 28): An elderly man was killed while two others were injured after a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle lost control and plunged into Sungai Mirirai in Baleh.
The accident occurred at about 4pm on Friday when the vehicle was crossing the Sungai Mirirai bridge.
It is believed the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to fall off the bridge and into the river.
The 66-year-old man died from severe injuries sustained in the mishap. Two other passengers were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
A police report has been lodged at the Kapit Police Station, and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
