KOTA SAMARAHAN (Feb 25): Farley Kota Samarahan’s ‘Majlis Sentuhan Kasih 2026’ yesterday brought joy and encouragement to orphans and other underprivileged children from the local community.

Run in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs Department of Sarawak (JAIS), the programme involved 50 children from several schools around this district.

Officiating at the event was Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency special administrative officer Anuar Da’an, who was representing Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister and Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang.

Each child received Hari Raya vouchers and goodies bags as part of the contribution to help brighten their upcoming celebration, said Farley director Eiyen Lau.

“Beyond the gifts, the event also meant to bring happiness, hope, and a sense of belonging to these children.

“Over the years, Farley Kota Samarahan has continued to hold its ‘Majlis Sentuhan Kasih’ as part of its social responsibility efforts.

“Through this programme, the company hopes to give back to society, strengthen community ties, and to share the spirit of helping others,” he added.

According to Lau, up to now a total 33 schoolchildren have received educational assistance from Farley Foundation.

He expressed hope that the foundation would increase the number of recipients every year so that more Sarawakian children could have the opportunity to realise their dream though education.

Lau also took the opportunity to thank all the agencies and departments involved, in particular JAIS, as well as the Kota Samarahan community for their strong cooperation and continuous support.
