Fire destroys 4WD vehicle in Kuching

KUCHING (Aug 20): A four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle was destroyed after it caught fire at Jalan Stapok Utama here last night.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said they were notified about the incident at around 9.29pm and firefighters from Batu Lintang fire station were deployed to the scene.

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that a four-wheel-drive had been completely destroyed in the fire.

“The firefighters successfully extinguished the fire and wrapped up the operation after ensuring that there were no remnants of fire were left at the scene,” it said in the statement.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
