BINTULU (Sept 23): Four houses at Uma Badeng, Sungai Asap, Belaga, were affected by a fire this morning, with no casualties reported.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, two of the houses were completely destroyed, while the kitchen areas of the other two sustained damage.
“The fire was reported at about 9.05am and was brought under control by the Sungai Asap Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS), preventing it from spreading further,” it said.
The Belaga fire station (BBP Belaga) was still en route to the scene when the initial report was issued, with ten firefighters deployed to the location about 90 kilometres away.
