KUCHING (April 3): Police have arrested four individuals, including two women, in three separate drug busts on Wednesday.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the first arrest occurred at 8.05am, when a 41-year-old man was detained during a raid at Jalan Resak.
“The raiding team found 6.14 grammes of suspected methamphetamine, valued at RM675.
“The suspect tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and has 10 prior criminal records,” he said in a statement.
The second case took place at 5.05pm, when a 41-year-old woman was arrested outside an apartment at Lorong Lapangan Terbang in Kuching.
Police found 21.84 grammes of methamphetamine worth RM1,090. She also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and had two previous criminal records.
Just five minutes later, at 5.10pm, police arrested a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman at an apartment in the same area.
“The pair were found in possession of 31.5 grammes of methamphetamine, valued at RM1,575. Both suspects tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. The male suspect has nine prior criminal records, while the female suspect has two,” he added.
The two suspects from the first two raids are being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while the latter two are being investigated under Section 39A(2).
The suspect from the first raid is remanded until April 6, while the remaining three are remanded until April 9.
