KUCHING, Jan 22: Chrisezra Ason Bert Willington and Catriona Siaw Cun Yun, both from Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Betong in Sarawak, have won bronze medals at the 25th International Robot Olympiad (IRO) in Athens, Greece, which took place from January 16 to 20.

Chrisezra Ason and Siaw demonstrated their skills by competing with 1,430 participants from 13 different countries. The two students were guided by Cikgu Amran Tura.

What’s fascinating is that the two young individuals showcased Sarawakian pride by donning Orang Ulu traditional costume attire and ‘Baju Burung Iban’ during the tournament.

According to a Facebook post by the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Malaysia also won a gold medal in the ‘Robot in Movie’ category with students from MRSM Semporna in Sabah, Muhammad Darwisy Aqil Kasful and Ahmad Fakhrul Afnan Abdul Fattah.

Meanwhile, Iman Amadi Abdul Hadi Andrew and Alya Umyra Ahmad Hafizullah Amir from MRSM Parit in Perak, along with Mohamad Faiz Akmal Mohamad Zaidi and Muhammad Najmi Harith Nisful Husaini from MRSM Bentong in Pahang, secured the silver medals. — DayakDaily
