Hilton Garden Inn expands East Malaysian portfolio with Tuaran branch

Tuaran (March 27): Hilton has opened the Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran, marking the brand’s first presence in Tuaran and further expanding its portfolio in East Malaysia.

Located along the Tuaran coastline near mangrove wetlands, the hotel adds to Hilton’s existing properties in Sabah and Sarawak, including Hilton Kota Kinabalu and Hilton Kuching.

Hilton area vice president and regional head of South East Asia Alexandra Murray said Sabah has long been a favourite for travellers seeking nature, space and a sense of escape.

“Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran offers a refreshingly uncomplicated beachfront retreat where families and travelers can switch off, recharge and enjoy a stay defined by welcoming comforts, dependable service and an approachable sense of hospitality,” she said in a statement on Friday.

The hotel is about 30 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city centre and slightly over an hour from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

It also serves as a base for visitors heading to sites such as Kinabalu National Park and the Linangkit Cultural Village.

The property has 167 rooms, including king, twin, family and accessible categories. Rooms are designed with workspaces and functional layouts, while selected units feature higher ceilings or private outdoor areas.

For meetings and events, the hotel provides a 164-square-metre hall that can accommodate up to 80 guests.
