Integrated Ops IPD Song: 45 individuals, 44 vehicles examined

SONG, 15 September: A total of 45 individuals and 44 vehicles were examined, while four suits were issued in the Integrated Crime Prevention Operation conducted by Song Regional Police Headquarters (IPD) today.

Song Regional Police Chief, DSP Benedict Faris Jimoy announced the operation started at 9 am around Pekan Song and Temalat Road with a force of 14 Lower Police Officers (PRP) from various branches and divisions headed by IPD Song Community Crime Prevention and Security Division Chief, Inspector Lucy Ronald Jubang.

"This operation and program is an ongoing effort by IPD Song to improve public safety through regular patrols, inspections and police presence", he said in a statement today.

According to him, the operation focuses on prevention of property crime, individual and suspicious vehicle inspections, enforcement of traffic offences as well as identification of individuals wanted by police.

In addition to enforcement, the police also held an interactive session with traders and local communities in Pekan Song explaining the use of Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) app to facilitate people's transmission of information and complaints to the police.

Mistakes related to VSP registration and current trends in commercial crimes were also circulated, as well as details about the Hotline CCID Scam Response Centre JSJK Sarawak.

Merchants are also advised to install closed-circuit cameras (CCTVs) on their premises as a measure to increase the level of security.
