BINTULU (Feb 25): The new Bintulu administrative building in Jepak has reached 96.75 per cent physical completion and is on track for full completion by this mid-April, according to a report from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR).

JKR said the remaining works are focused on final touches and coordination to ensure all building components are fully operational before handover, following a site visit by JKR Sarawak director Datu Dr Cassidy Morris.

“The project will be handed over in stages, based on the readiness of its facilities and operational requirements,” it said.

JKR Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the project’s timely completion to support administrative functions and improve public delivery services in Bintulu.

Meanwhile, the proposed dual carriageway to Bintulu Airport has recorded 9.82 per cent physical progress and remains on track for completion in October 2027.

The 4.1-kilometre road is being constructed according to JKR U5 standards to improve traffic flow, safety, and travel comfort for road users heading to and from the airport.

During the visit, a technical briefing was held with the project team to assess ongoing works and resolve implementation matters, with JKR emphasising close monitoring and coordination to ensure both projects meet their milestones and schedules.
