SIBU (Aug 11): Residents in the Julau constituency are encouraged to participate in the district’s parliamentary level MyLesen B2 class motorcycle licence programme.

Julau MP Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shien said the programme will be held later in October and November.

“This programme is one of the government’s efforts to ease the financial burden of the public to obtain a motorcycle licence through legitimate channels.

“The main requirement to join the programme is that participants must be Malaysian citizens aged 16 years and above, as well as be recipients of government assistance.

“Moreover, participants must be physically and mentally healthy, having never possess a driver’s licence before and not blacklisted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Royal Malaysia Police,” he told reporters when met after attending a MyLesen B2 class programme meeting at JPJ Sarikei branch here on Friday.

Interested individuals must pay RM250 and obtain registration forms from the Julau Parliamentary Service Centre, N47 Pakan Service Centre, N48 Meluan Service Centre, Pakan District Office, Julau District Office, and Sarikei Driving Institute to participate in the programme.

Additionally, Sng revealed that 1,000 participants have registered to join the programme.

The application deadline is on Sept 7.
