KUCHING, Sept. 30: The safety and management aspects of the match will be among the main focuses of Kuching City FC (KCFC) ahead of the opening ceremony on the Asian and ASEAN stages, when Taha Ariffin Stadium will host the attendance of supporters as well as international team delegations.
KCFC Executive Chairman, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the club took proactive steps by increasing the number of security personnel and marshals to ensure the smoothness of every match.
"We're going to raise the marshals or security guards to make sure we don't face any unwanted issues", he told a press conference at Taha Ariffin Stadium, here today.
According to him, the KCFC security team was also sent to attend several high-profile matches outside Kuching, including in Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), to learn supporters management methods as well as more experienced security controls.
"We sent them to some big matches like in KL and JDT so they could see and learn from more experienced players handling issues like this", he explained.
In addition to security controls, KCFC is also paying attention to the entire game day ecosystem including support routes, outfield areas and occupier placement to ensure everything is more organized according to international competition requirements.
According to Fazzrudin, the preparation is important as Taha Ariffin Stadium will be a meeting stage for teams from overseas including representatives of South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Cambodia in Asian competitions as well as ASEAN.
He added that the experience was something new for KCFC, but the club is committed to ensuring that the stadium is safe and comfortable for all parties.
"This is new to us and we're still learning. Of course we will face some challenges, but we will deal with them from time to time", he said. - TVS
