KUCHING, 1 Oct: Kuching City FC team showcased more mature game patterns when they defeated Sabah FC 4-1 in a friendly at the Taha Ariffin Stadium, recently.

Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak described the performance as a positive development after his team showed improvement in ball control and game combination aspects.

According to Aidil, Kuching City are now more mature than some previous matches, especially in ensuring that the ball's dominance remains under team control.

"There's a lot of positive things we can see today, among them we were able to maintain good control of the ball.

"I think we're more mature than six or seven games ago, when we lost a lot of balls and dominance. The improvement we can see today is that we were able to keep the ball well and do a lot of combinations", he said when meeting with reporters after a friendly at Taha Ariffin Stadium, tonight.

Aidil said the improvement was not by chance, but rather a result of intensive training and discussions throughout the break to improve the team's weaknesses.

However, he reminded the players not to be too comfortable with the win as there are still some aspects that need to be completed.

Aidil described the victory over Sabah FC as a positive sign, but stressed that the team should continue to improve performance in the face of greater challenges.

"I think this match is a good sign, but we can't stop here because I think the real test is in the Shopee Cup competition", he added.

Kuching City FC is scheduled to open the curtains of the Shopee Cup competition against Tampines Rovers FC on October 7, with the event scheduled to take place at Taha Ariffin Stadium.
