KUCHING, Jan 6: Koplo Pentas Borneo 2024, featuring Indonesia’s Siti Badriah, will take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Feb 17.
Joining Siti from 8pm to 11pm will be Indonesian pop band Keris Patih and Malaysian group Luvia Band.
Indo-pop sensation Siti’s song, ‘Lagi Syantik’, came with immediate success upon its first release in 2018, with 160 million views on YouTube. It has ever since gotten more than 500 million views.
According to the concert organiser Pentas Borneo Sdn Bhd operation manager Mohd Shahreen Shuib, fans of koplo, a sub-genre of dangdut or Indonesian dance and folk music, are welcome to enjoy the concert.
Mohd Shahreen, who expects an audience of 5,000, also hoped the energetic music and rhythm by one of the biggest names of koplo music from Indonesia would delight concertgoers.
“We hope to get support from fans and those who like Indo-pop songs, and the slow rhythm of Keris Patih and the Luvia Band could entertain these concertgoers too,” he said at a press conference at BCCK today.
Those who wish to see the concert can get tickets at www.ticket2u.com.my.
