KUCHING, March 12: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap today presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant totalling RM10,000 to two local churches, BEM The Way and BEM Stutong Baru, reinforcing his ongoing support for faith-based and community organisations that serve the people.
During the presentation ceremony, both churches received RM5,000 each to support their church activities, community outreach programmes, and welfare initiatives.
Highlighting the role of religious organisations in society, Yap said, “Churches and faith-based organisations are vital pillars of our community. Through their programmes and volunteer efforts, they nurture unity, compassion, and care for those in need.”
He emphasised his commitment to backing organisations that actively contribute to social wellbeing and community harmony in Kota Sentosa.
Yap also acknowledged the dedication of church leaders and volunteers at BEM The Way and BEM Stutong Baru, praising their tireless service to the community.
“Community development is a shared responsibility. I look forward to continuing our collaboration with various organisations to build a caring, inclusive, and harmonious society,” he added. — DayakDaily
