MIRI (March 25): The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Miri branch has carried out a raid at a petrol station here suspected of being involved in the misappropriation of controlled goods, namely diesel.

In a statement, KPDN Miri said the operation was carried out after a Facebook post went viral, showing a vehicle allegedly filling a liquid believed to be diesel into containers placed outside the vehicle, in excess of the limit permitted by the Controller of Supplies.

“A preliminary check was conducted, including a review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, transaction records and purchase receipts, for further verification.

“Following that, an order to produce documents and information relating to controlled goods under Section 8 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 has been issued for reference and further action,” the statement added.

KPDN Miri also welcomed public complaints and said various channels have been made available to facilitate the public in submitting complaints and information.

“Complaints can be channelled via WhatsApp at http://wa.me/60198488000, the e-aduan portal at eaduan.kpdn.gov.my, the Call Centre at 1-800-886-800, or through the Ez ADU KPDN mobile application,” it added.
