KUCHING (March 31): KTS Group managing director Dato Henry Lau Lee Kong has retained his position as chairman of Sarawak Timber Association (STA), in which he will serve for the 2026-2027 term.
This was announced at the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) held at Wisma STA here on Tuesday.
This marks Henry’s third term as the STA chairman – a post he held since 2022.
He was the honorary secretary between 2020 and 2022.
At yesterday’s AGM, a total of 33 council members were elected.
“Together with 12 permanent council members, they all form the STA Council for the 2026-2027 term,” said the association in a press statement.
The elected vice-chairmen are David Tiong Chiong Ong and Yap Fui Fook, while Dato Sri Patrick Wong Haw Yeong and Philip Choo Kwong Hui are the respective honorary secretary and honorary treasurer.
The office-bearers, together with the newly-elected committee chairmen, will form the STA Management Committee for the 2026-2027 term.
Heading the various committees are Wong Ko Hock (Forest Plantation), Yek Siew Liong (Furniture and Other Woodworking), Tsen Teck Fen (Hill Logging), Adeline Lau Kor See, (Log Marketing), Philip Law Buong Hoo (Moulding), Vincent Chieng Ai Ung and Kueh Nai Chung (Panel Products), Desmond Kang Dai Yiing (Sawmilling), Diana Lau Kor Ping (Swamp Logging), and Stephen Hii Hium Ung (Timber Products Marketing).
