SARIKEI, March 4: The Kuala Rajang Ramadan Tour Programme continues to uphold its tradition since 2011, serving as an important platform to engage with the Muslim community across the Kuala Rajang constituency.

In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news, Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment and Kuala Rajang assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic response from local residents to the programme.

“This initiative not only revitalises mosques during Ramadan but also strengthens ties between leaders and the grassroots community,” he said during the Ramadan Tour at Masjid Darul Saadah on Tuesday (March 3).

This year’s tour began last Friday at Kampung Bukit Kinyau, Tanjung Manis, before moving on to Kampung Belawai, Kampung Jerijih, and Kampung Rajang. For the Sarikei Zone, the programme includes Masjid Al-Mutaqqin and Masjid Ar-Rahmah, and will conclude at Masjid Al Ansar, Kampung Selalang, tomorrow.

During the visits, Len Talif also inspected local mosques and suraus to assess improvements and ensure congregants’ comfort is maintained.

He emphasised that the Sarawak government’s focus extends beyond mosques and suraus to all places of worship, regardless of religion.

“Efforts to upgrade and provide essential facilities form part of the government’s ongoing commitment to allowing citizens to practice their faith in a safe, comfortable, and harmonious environment,” he added.

The Ramadan Tour Programme remains a relevant platform to bring leadership closer to the community, reflecting Sarawak’s vision for inclusive development and the well-being of its people. — DayakDaily
