LAKMNS invests in digital and professional development to enhance TATTARY’s learning environment

KUCHING: The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) is committed to providing a conducive educational environment for students of Tadika Tahfiz Tun Abdul-Rahman Ya’kub (TATTARY), enabling them to engage in more effective and quality learning.

LAKMNS honorary secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain stated that every year, the board allocates a significant subsidy to ensure that the quality of education services offered at TATTARY is maintained at an optimal level and keeps pace with current needs.

“Classes at TATTARY are not only equipped with computers and televisions, but also have internet access in each classroom.

“The rapid advancement of technology requires TATTARY to integrate digital learning platforms into the existing learning environment,” he said.

He said this during the 15th anniversary celebration of TATTARY, officiated by Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak(SABATI) deputy president Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, representing SABATI president Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Additionally, Abdul Aziz highlighted that one of their priorities is teacher development.

He mentioned that LAKMNS has funded 15 TATTARY staff members, comprising management and teachers, to pursue bachelor’s and diploma degrees in early childhood education at Open University Malaysia (OUM) starting in 2022.

“In line with the government’s recommendation that kindergarten teachers should hold at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, LAKMNS has embraced this recommendation.

“We believe professional training in early childhood education will further enhance the teaching and learning process, thereby improving the quality of education at TATTARY,” he explained.

At the event, Dayang Morliah also launched the book “TATTARY 15 Years of Creating Memories, Shaping the Future” published by LAKMNS, followed by the presentation of a RM5,000 charitable contribution from SABATI to TATTARY.

Also present were SABATI Working Committee chairperson Puan Sri Datin Amar Fatimah Mohamad Iskandar, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and Federal-State Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Sarawak Government Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK) Women’s Division chairperson Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, LAKMNS board members, LAKMNS CEO Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, and LAKMNS senior management.
