MIRI (Feb 26): The Land and Survey Department (Landas) handed over RM100,000 in corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions to 10 organisations in the Miri Division.
In a Facebook post, State Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said each recipient received RM10,000 under the department’s CSR Trust Fund during a symbolic cheque presentation ceremony here yesterday.
The recipients were Masjid Darul Ibadah; the village security and development committee (JKKK) of Kampung Masjid, Kampung Narum, Kampung Pemindahan, Rumah Giling Manggai, Rumah James Ansi, and Kampung Cina; SK Ubung Imang; SK Long Laput; and Pertubuhan Agama Buddha.
The Marudi assemblyman said Landas has implemented a fund collection drive for its CSR Trust Fund since 2021.
“The selection of recipients is done on a rotational basis each year to ensure fairness and comprehensive coverage for communities affected by mining activities throughout Sarawak,” he said.
Also present were Landas Miri superintendent Anthony Aboi, Marudi district officer Rose Edward Tarang, Miri district officer Edward Tawang, and Telang Usan district officer Ezra Uda.
