LCDA channels over RM1.78 mln in business zakat to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak

KUCHING (Feb 25): The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has channelled RM1,782,437.05 in business zakat for 2025 to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

LCDA general manager Datu Zaidi Mahdi presented the zakat to TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during the LCDA Darul Hana 2026 Iftar on Tuesday.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg witnessed the handing over at the event held in conjunction with LCDA’s 45th anniversary celebration.

At the same event, Abang Johari also presented Hari Raya contributions amounting to RM25,000 to 125 recipients from 13 villages within the Darul Hana Development Project area, with each recipient receiving RM200.

The ceremony brought together around 700 guests and served as a platform to appreciate the support and cooperation of LCDA staff, community leaders, government agencies and departments, as well as members of the media throughout the agency’s 45-year journey.

It also reflected LCDA’s continued commitment to working closely with the community in spearheading inclusive and sustainable development in Darul Hana, with an emphasis on the well-being of the people.

Among those present were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; the Premier’s daughter Dayang Norjihan; Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi; and LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain.
