KUCHING (Nov 28): The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) received the ‘Community Initiative Award’ at the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards 2025, which was staged in Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday night.

The regional awards programme, organised by the MORS Group at the Intercontinental Hotel Jimbaran, received more than 800 submissions from all across Asia.

LCDA was represented by LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Kusyairi Bostani, who was accompanied by senior manager Saiful Bahari Amra Ramly, as well as officers Nur Farahasheela Bohari, Kustino Satiman, and Kimberly Dickson.

The award was presented by Aubrens chief consultant and partner Dr Jayanthi Desan.

Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa was the guest-of-honour.

“This recognition reflects the Sarawak government’s and also the agency’s ongoing efforts towards uplifting communities through sustainable development, socio-economic empowerment, and active stakeholder engagement,” said LCDA in a statement.

For the 2025 submission, LCDA showcased its Darul Hana Redevelopment Project, a flagship initiative to promote inclusive participation and long-term community impact, in line with the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

This ACES achievement marked LCDA’s third major community development accolade since 2023.

Previously, the agency received the ‘GLC of the Year – Community at Heart Award’ at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023 in Kuala Lumpur; and the ‘Corporate Excellence in Community Development for Sustainability Award’ at the IBR Borneo Awards 2023 in Kuching.

“These recognitions underscore LCDA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and to improving the well-being of communities across Sarawak,” added the agency.
