Local duo busted for cable theft

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Two local men were arrested for allegedly pilfering cables along Jalan Stakan yesterday (Jan 16).

According to the Kota Samarahan district police headquarters (IPD), a mobile patrol unit swiftly detained the suspects aged 25 and 31, who were discovered by the roadside.

The arrest was made after a public tip-off about the duo engaging in cable cutting activities in the area.

Furthermore, witnesses also observed the suspects rifling through an abandoned vehicle by the road.

Upon inspection, the team managed to find a coil of severed cable and an assortment of cutting tools inside their pick-up truck.

The suspects, in addition to the confiscated items and the vehicle, were taken to Kota Samarahan IPD for further investigation.
