Lorry driver sustains leg injuries in collision with trailer truck in Bintulu

BINTULU (Aug 11): A 34-year-old driver sustained leg injuries after his three-tonne lorry collided with a trailer truck at Mile 10, Pan Borneo Highway Bintulu-Miri road late last night.

Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) zone chief Wan Kamarudin Wan Ahmad said the department was alerted about the incident at 11.41pm and firefighters were despatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, it was found that the lorry driver was trapped by his leg. The firefighters extricated the victim from the wreckage using a special tool,” he added.

Wan Kamarudin said the injured driver was handed over to medical personnel for further action.

The operation ended after the firefighters carried out flushing at the scene.
