KUCHING, Apr 1: The Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) has officially launched six new BAS.MY Kuching routes and announced that the mobile application will be updated to include them, improving access to public transport across the city.
LPKP Chairman Michael Kong Feng Nian said the new routes aim to improve connectivity for residents in key areas, including Foochow Road, Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Laru, Tabuan Heights, and Stutong Baru.
He highlighted the Q15 Saujana – Stutong Baru/Kuching Sentral route, which provides direct links between these communities and central transit hubs.
“Punctuality and service reliability remain top priorities, as they are essential for public confidence and long-term adoption of the bus network,” he said in a recent statement.
He added that the BAS.MY Kuching mobile application has yet to reflect the new routes. LPKP will work with the system provider to update the app promptly, ensuring users can access accurate route information for trip planning.
“The launch of these routes demonstrates our commitment to enhancing public transport and encouraging more residents to use buses,” he said.
LPKP Sarawak added that further improvements to service coverage and reliability are planned to meet public expectations and travel needs. — DayakDaily
