KUCHING (Dec 2): A total of 100 pupils from low-income families received contributions from the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Sarawak Women’s wing yesterday in conjunction with the upcoming Christmas celebration.
The pupils, who each received RM100, were from 10 primary schools, namely SK Astana, SK Muara Tebas, SK Bandar Samariang, SJKC Chung Hua Sungai Buda, SK Semerah Padi, SK St Mary, SK St Thomas, SK Tabuan, SK Jagoi Bau, and SJK Chung Hua Bau.
Goodies worth RM5,000 were also presented to all the pupils and their teachers. Additionally, the parent-teacher associations of SK Muara Tebas and SK Bandar Samariang were presented with RM500 each.
Maksak Sarawak Women chairperson Datuk Baduyah Bujang said the programme aimed to instil the spirit of giving among children.
“It is a season that invites us to open our hearts and reflect on the blessings we have. Let our children learn and embody this essence of giving.
“Watching us share the love and generosity will remind them of the simple joys that truly define this season,” she said.
Gracing the event was Maksak Sarawak Women patron Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
