Man goes missing after buying cooking gas, feared drowned in Song river

SONG, July 4: A 56-year-old man is feared to have drowned after he fell from a boat along the river at Rumah (Rh) Lasin Katibas in Song today.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 9.40am, and firefighters from the Song station were deployed.

Based on the report, at 6pm on July 3, the complainant, who is a relative of the victim, Sumok Jugah, received a call that the victim had fallen from a boat after purchasing cooking gas at a shop.

The incident came to light when longhouse residents discovered the victim’s boat drifting upstream in the Bangkit River without anyone on board. — DayakDaily
