Man in his 50s killed after car crashes into lamp post along Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass

KUCHING, March 6: A local man in his 50s was killed after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into a lamp post along Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass near the Industrial Training Institute (ILP) here on March 4.

Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the fatal road accident occurred at about 5.50pm.

“The victim was driving from Senadin towards Permyjaya when the vehicle is believed to have lost control before skidding and hitting a lamp post on the right side of the road.

“The driver was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
