Man killed in four-vehicle collision

KUCHING: A 52-year-old man was killed in a four-vehicle collision at the Jalan Canna traffic light intersection here on Wednesday night (Sept. 23).

Kuching Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said the accident happened at around 7:59 pm and involved a Toyota Vios, a Honda CR-V, a Honda BR-V and a Toyota Harrier.

“Preliminary investigations found that the victim was driving the Vios from Jalan Stutong traffic lights towards Jalan Canna.

“The victim was travelling on the left lane when his car allegedly crashed into the right rear side of the Honda CR-V.

“The Vios then veered into the right lane, where it sideswiped the left side of a Honda BR-V before crashing into the rear of the Harrier,” he said.

As a result, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His body was taken to the hospital for further actions.

Alexson said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
