Man seen walking naked in Sibu town undergoing psychiatric treatment at hospital

SIBU, July 1: The man who went viral after allegedly behaving indecently by walking naked around the Sibu town area is currently receiving treatment at the Psychiatric Ward of Sibu Hospital.

Sibu District Police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police investigations revealed that the individual had been admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment.

“Police have confirmed with Sibu Hospital regarding his admission and will obtain medical reports and expert assessments to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.

He added that police will open an investigation paper after consulting and obtaining legal advice on the case.

“The public is advised not to speculate or circulate any materials related to the incident, as this may cause public concern and distress to the individual’s family,” he said.

Abang Zainal also reminded the public to use social media responsibly, noting that sharing unlawful content may result in action under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), where applicable. — DayakDaily
