KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has come up with its first-ever single to cast the spotlight on unity among the diverse ethnic groups in Sarawak through a lunar New Year melody.

The new year song, titled “Let’s get together!” was crafted and composed by renowned musician, Ang Chee Ciang, with production credited to local music producer Sim Kok How.

The music infuses the traditional Sarawak instrument, the Sape, adding a distinctive Sarawakian touch to the Chinese New Year melody.

According to MBKS in a statement, the recording of this New Year song aims to capture the festive ambience of Kuching during the lunar New Year.
