KUCHING, Dec 18: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak this afternoon.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau), Sri Aman, Sarikei (Sarikei and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu, and Dalat), and Kapit (Song). The warning, issued at 1.05pm today, remains in effect until 4pm.

“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
