Midnight blaze destroys first floor of Jln Samariang house, ground floor partially damaged

KUCHING (March 23): The first floor of a house in Jalan Samariang, Bukit Siol here was completely destroyed, while the ground floor was partially damaged in a fire around midnight today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they were notified about the incident at 12.06am and firefighters from Petra Jaya and Batu Lintang fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

“The fire involved a two-storey house, with the first floor 100 per cent destroyed and the ground floor 25 per cent damaged. All seven residents of the house managed to escape,” Bomba said in a statement.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze before the operation concluded at 1.52am.
