According to Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak in a post on its social media, the lighting concept, presented as part of the project’s design enhancements, aims to elevate the stadium’s visual appeal after dark, complementing its role as a venue for upcoming international sporting events.

During the visit, officials were also updated on the overall progress of the project, which has recorded encouraging performance, with physical works currently ahead of schedule.

In addition to the lighting proposal, detailed plans on a refreshed colour scheme and new seating configuration were presented, focusing on improving spectator comfort while giving the stadium a more vibrant and contemporary look.

The delegation later conducted a site inspection around the stadium to observe ongoing works and ensure construction quality complies with established standards.

The visit underscores the Sarawak government’s continued commitment to delivering the Sarawak Stadium Upgrade and Refurbishment Project smoothly and to a high standard, reinforcing its strategic role as a venue for prestigious sporting events, including the SEA Games 2027. — DayakDaily
