MIRI (April 11): A total of 42 recipients in the Mulu constituency have received assistance under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) initiative, aimed at supporting community development and improving basic amenities.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala said the allocation, amounting to RM605,000, is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of rural communities and address local needs more effectively.

“MRP focuses on the real needs of the people, ensuring that no community is left behind in the development process,” he said during a cheque presentation ceremony here on Thursday.

“Although these projects are small in scale, their impact is significant in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of rural communities,” he added.

The MRP assistance covers a range of initiatives, including community infrastructure improvements, upgrading of public facilities, and support for grassroots activities.

Gerawat, who is also Mulu assemblyman, expressed hope that the assistance would be utilised effectively and continue to bring positive benefits to the people, while further strengthening overall development in the constituency.
