MUKAH: A delegation of five top management officials from Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) recently visited the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) Digital Village and the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD) in Kuching to forge strategic partnerships and enhance educational activities in the region.

The delegation was led by deputy director (academic) Iskandar Reduan and included deputy director (academic support) Sophian Sout; Mathematics, Science and Computer Department head Sudiman Suhaili, Science Course head Mohd Radhi Musa, and PMU Communication and Corporate Unit head Mohd Baharruddin Mohamad.

Upon arrival at Tegas, the PMU team was warmly received and briefed by corporate communications and secretariat manager Mohd Shafiee Edmund.

The visit to MEITD included a briefing by MEITD secretary Adana Jed, along with officers Nur Ain Jarawi and Nurain Oly Abdullah.

According to a PMU statement, the visit aimed to establish strategic cooperation between the two agencies to bolster Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in the Mukah Division.

This collaboration seeks to promote PMU as a preferred TVET institution and enhance STEM initiatives among local school students.

The visit also aimed to lay the groundwork for the STEM Carnival Program@Mukah 2024, scheduled for October, and to build cooperative relationships with industry and external organisations for developing high-impact collaborative programmes.

Through these efforts, PMU hopes to strengthen cognitive, psychomotor, and effective development among students while fostering strategic collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
