KUCHING, Apr 15: Fuel supply across all Petronas stations nationwide is secured until the end of June 2026, extending an earlier projection that had covered up to May 2026.
According to a TVS news report, Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) said it is actively managing its supply chain to ensure sufficient fuel availability at all its retail stations, amid global energy market pressures driven by ongoing tensions in West Asia.
The national oil company said Petronas Dagangan Bhd, its listed retail arm, supplies about half of Malaysia’s fuel demand, while the remaining requirement is met by other oil companies operating in the country.
Previously on April 1, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Petronas was assisting the government in securing sufficient oil and gas supply at least until May 2026, with the latest update extending the assurance to June 2026.
Petronas reiterated its commitment to maintaining a stable and reliable fuel supply for consumers nationwide despite external uncertainties affecting the global energy landscape.
The company also urged the public to purchase fuel responsibly based on daily needs and to avoid panic buying, stressing that disciplined consumption would help ensure continuous and stable distribution nationwide. — DayakDaily
