KUCHING, Jan 14: Habitat for Indigenous and Urban Programme (Hidup) chairman George Young Si Ricord lauds Church of Latter Day Saints Charities for its contributions to the community in Padawan.
In a statement today, George, who is also Community Rehabilitation Centre (PPDK) Hidup Mesra Teng Bukep chairman said since 2019, their unwavering support, generosity and assistance has been immeasurable to uplift the livelihood of the local community.
“We had the opportunity to reflect on the meaningful contributions and benevolent spirit of the Church of Latter Day Saints Charities since 2019 with the Jacksons.
“Elder Lyle Jackson was instrumental in his personal involvement in our initiatives and has touched the lives of countless individuals and families here leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and support,” he said.
He added that the Church of Latter Day Saints Charities has been an integral part of their mission to create a better, more inclusive society, and their support has helped advance the centre’s cause with greater efficacy and reach.
On the same note, while extending heartfelt gratitude to the organisation, George said the centre also bids a fond farewell to Elder Sandy and Sister Ardella Halls, who have been instrumental in their collaborative endeavors for the past two years.
According to him, the Halls’ departure leaves a void in the community, but their spirit of goodwill and service will forever remain an inspiration.
“We wish them every success and happiness in their future endeavours, and we hope that they will carry with them the warmest memories of their time in Sarawak,” he added.
George gave assurance that PPDK Hidup Mesra Teng Bukep looks forward to continuing its mission with the enduring support from its partners and friends.
“We remain committed to upholding the values of compassion, empathy, and solidarity that have been exemplified by the Church of Latter Day Charities Saints and the Halls and their incoming successor,” he said.
