KOTA SAMARAHAN: More than 3,000 visitors and participants are expected to attend Carnival Tok Bok Nyo 3.0 at The Summer Shopping Mall here from Sept 25 to 27.
Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) Councillor Junaidi Kaderi said the carnival is targeting strong participation across its various games, talks and competitions.
“For expected participants taking part in the activities, we estimate collecting over 1,000 participants across all games, talks, and competitions.
“However, the overall attendance is targeted to exceed 3,000, for both participants and visitors,” he said during a press conference at the Kota Samarahan public library here today.
Now in its third edition, the carnival will feature a range of activities including Warisan Kita, which focuses on community activities and local handicraft sales, as well as the R.E.M.A.J.A programme covering education, career and student potential.
The three-day event will also feature e-sports and sports activities including Beyblade, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Zumba, alongside automotive events such as Tamiya Mini 4WD, and a Supercar Show.

“This carnival is not just an entertainment event, but a platform for community development bringing together culture, education, career, sports, creativity, and lifestyle in one programme,” he added.
Meanwhile, MPKS deputy chairman Daily Joseph said the indoor venue was particularly suitable amid the current haze situation in Sarawak.
“Since it’s inside a shopping mall, we won’t have to worry about the haze,” he said.
The carnival will be officially opened on Sept 25 at 3pm by State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Deputy Speaker and Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang.
Meanwhile the closing ceremony on Sept 27 will be officiated by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang.
