KUCHING (April 8): Motorists here have been urged to plan their journeys in advance as partial road closures are expected around the city centre on Thursday (April 9) for the Guangze Zunwang procession.
In a statement, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) advised motorists to exercise caution, avoid parking along the roadside, and consider alternative routes to reduce traffic congestion during the event.
The procession will run from 4.30pm to 11pm, drawing an estimated 10,000 participants and 220 vehicles.
The route will cover Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Central Timur, Jalan Padungan, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Borneo, Jalan Bukit Mata, Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Gambier, Lebuh Java, Jalan Market, Jalan Kho Hun Yeang, Jalan Pearl, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, and will conclude at Jalan Carpenter.
