KUCHING, June 27: Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, graced the Brooke Dockyard Industrial Heritage Museum here with an official visit today.
The royal couple arrived at the museum compound at approximately 11am, where they were warmly received by Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, together with his wife, Datin Rosemarie Wong, as well as officers and staff of the Sarawak Museum Department.
During the visit, Their Royal Highnesses were briefed on the establishment of the historic Brooke Dockyard and its significant role in shaping Sarawak’s maritime and shipbuilding industries.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news, they also toured the museum galleries, viewing a range of artefacts, exhibition materials, and historical collections that document the dockyard’s industrial legacy.
In addition to the museum engagement, the royal couple are expected to attend and witness selected performances held in conjunction with the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2026 at the Sarawak Cultural Village.
The three-day festival, running from Friday to Sunday, forms part of their official itinerary in Sarawak.
Their Royal Highnesses are scheduled to depart for Perlis on Monday, following the conclusion of their three-day official visit to the State. — DayakDaily
