KUCHING (March 29): Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has dismissed claims that it is involved in a proposed fuel supply arrangement in the Philippines.

The national oil company said it is focused on ensuring that reliable and continuous fuel supply is available for Malaysia.

“Petronas refers to recent media report on a proposed fuel supply arrangement involving a local government unit in the Philippines.

“Petronas wishes to clarify that it is not aware of, nor involved in, any such arrangement, and has not entered into any related agreement or commitment,” the company said in a statement yesterday.

It added that ensuring reliable and continuous fuel supply in the country remains its utmost priority, supported by established supply networks and close coordination with the government.
