KUCHING, June 29: PETROS multi-fuel stations operated by SEDC Energy are ready to implement the Budi Madani Diesel (Budi Diesel) programme from July 1 after months of operational preparations, says chief executive officer Robert Hardin.
In a TVS news report, he said the company has made extensive preparations to ensure the targeted diesel subsidy programme is implemented smoothly across its PETROS station network, drawing on experience gained from rolling out the Budi Madani RON95 programme previously.
“Through the implementation of that programme, we gained valuable experience that improved our operational readiness, staff training and system integration to support the implementation of Budi Diesel,” he told reporters at the PETROS Darul Hana multi-fuel station here today.
Robert described the federal government’s initiative as an important step towards strengthening the targeted subsidy mechanism by reducing fuel leakages while ensuring assistance reaches those who are genuinely eligible.
He said the programme would also reinforce the integrity of the country’s fuel subsidy system by creating a more efficient and sustainable fuel distribution mechanism while supporting long-term market stability and more responsible fiscal management.
Robert also urged eligible diesel users to check their qualification status and keep up with official notices and announcements on the implementation of the Budi Diesel programme ahead of its rollout. — DayakDaily
