KUCHING, Nov 14: Police have confirmed that two reports have been lodged against a teacher at a boarding school in Padawan over the alleged sexual harassment of two 15-year-old male students, says Sarawak Police Commissioner Dato Mancha Ata.

“Two police reports were received from the guardians of the victims on Nov 12, 2023, at 3.55pm.

“The victims claimed they were molested by a teacher who is also the warden of the school’s male student dormitory,” he said at a press conference at the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters here today.

According to the police statement, when one of the victims had a fever, the teacher took the victim to his quarters at the school, intending to take care of the victim.

While there, the victim claimed he was touched inappropriately by the suspect while bathing and resting.

Mancha added that the suspect is 40-years-old, and the case is still under investigation.

On Nov 13, it was reported that one of the students alleged that the suspect had been sexually harassing him since June last year.

The victim claimed that whenever he made a mistake, the suspect would touch his private parts.

Traumatised by the ordeal, the victim told his mother about the incident last Saturday (Nov 11), which prompted her to lodge a police report at Gita Police Station the following day.

The suspect has been stripped of his posts and is not allowed to be within the hostel’s compound. — DayakDaily
