KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a briefing on the Pan Borneo Highway (PBH) project and the Pan Borneo ‘Redline’ from the Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak.
The briefing took place during a courtesy visit by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and his team at Wisma Bapa today (June 11).
The ‘redline’ refers to the existing original route not previously included in the PBH construction.
“As these routes were not included in the PBH’s construction, they are now in poor condition.
“Therefore, all redline routes involving federal roads and state roads in Sarawak will be redesigned and upgraded to meet the standards of the Pan Borneo Highway Project,” said the department in a Facebook post.
In a separate post, Nanta said that the visit aimed to introduce his ministry’s management line and agencies to the Premier, as well as to discuss federal development projects in Sarawak managed by the Works Ministry and its agencies.
